Dietitians of Canada Graduate Internships/Practicums

Students who wish to become professional dietitians must meet all the requirements mandated by the Partnership for Dietetic Education and Practice (PDEP) and complete either an accredited integrated or graduate dietetic practicum in addition to their university program. Acadia University's Bachelor of Science in Nutrition (Dietetics option) is an accredited program recognized by the Partnership for Dietetic Education and Practice (PDEP) and prepares students for eligibility for registration with a provincial dietetics regulatory body.  It is an excellent preparation for postgraduate study in the health professions and education. Successful completion of a national registration examination is also a requirement.

Please consult the Dietitians of Canada website for more information on internships/practicums.

Application for post-degree internships/practicums through the Dietitians of Canada (DC) annual internship selection-match process is done in January of the fourth year of study. It is a competitive process with students from across Canada competing. Students may apply to three different locations. Prof. Connie Foote is the Coordinator of the Graduate Dietetic Internship/Practicum Program. Please contact Prof. Foote if you have any questions about dietetic internships/practicums.
