Canada's Atlantic Foodservice Partners (CAFP)
Canada's Atlantic Foodservice Partners (CAFP) is a student organization that promotes networking, education, professional development, and community involvement in the areas of dietetics and foodservice. Formerly part of a national organization, Acadia has continued to run its student branch independently to provide nutrition students with opportunities to enhance their educational experience and gain valuable skills that can be used wherever they end up in the future. Acadia CAFP offers students the ability to attend events, join committees, opportunities to run for executive positions, and be considered for member bursaries. CAFP also offers a great way for students to get to know their peers and make connections with professionals working in nutrition.
Examples of some common events include:
- Practicum student panel
- Professional headshots
- Tours of local companies
- Guest speakers on a variety of topics such as public speaking, professional development, and career opportunities
- Fundraisers including giveaways and social events
- Apple picking
... and so much more!
